Geothermal Heating and Cooling: A Green Investment

To significantly reduce our reliance on natural gas and oil, we have invested in an advanced geothermal heating and cooling system. This innovative technology harnesses the Earth’s natural heat by using a liquid to extract warmth from below the surface. Once extracted, a heat pump then increases the liquid’s temperature before transferring it to indoor air, which provides efficient and sustainable heating. During the summer months, the process reverses, drawing heat from the building and returning it to the Earth. Furthermore, this system is utilized for domestic hot water heating, which further enhances our overall energy efficiency.

One of the key advantages of geothermal energy is its reliability. The temperature below the Earth’s surface—approximately 10 feet deep—remains stable year-round, regardless of changing weather conditions. As a result, our system efficiently exchanges heat with the Earth, drawing warmth during the winter while dissipating excess heat in the summer.

Moreover, not only is geothermal energy an incredibly efficient heating and cooling method, but it is also sustainable and renewable. Because of this, it significantly reduces our carbon footprint. Unlike traditional energy sources, this clean energy alternative contributes little to no greenhouse gas emissions and, most importantly, does not produce pollution.

Energy-Efficient Lighting & Recycling

At Royal Heights, we believe that small actions can lead to a big impact. Beyond geothermal energy, Royal Heights has prioritized sustainability by implementing long-lasting LED lighting. These energy-efficient lights are 100% recyclable, free of toxic materials, and emit minimal UV radiation. We actively encourage recycling by providing convenient and accessible options for our residents to participate in waste reduction efforts.

A Greener, More Comfortable Future

Royal Heights is the only residential building in Durham Region to feature an environmentally friendly geothermal heating and cooling system. This system ensures consistent, ambient room temperatures, reduces our environmental impact and creates a more comfortable living experience for everyone.
