Oshawa’s partnership with Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+ are the backbone of creating an age-friendly city. The vision is to “support independent active living and enable older adults to continue to join in all aspects of community life,” according to the City of Oshawa’s website.

Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+

The OSCC55+ is a dedicated not-for-profit aiming to improve the quality of life for adults 55 and over through active living and personal growth services. They also welcome older adults in the surrounding areas of Oshawa to join.

The centre’s offer adult day programs, caregiver support and services, classes, clinics, and community service agencies. With five branches, and the nearest one being a six-minute drive from Royal Heights (the John Street Branch), there’s no shortage of age-friendly activities to enjoy.

Activities & Events

Whether you’re looking to learn some new dance moves or want to pick up an instrument, there’s many classes at the OSCC55+. Including arts and crafts, computers and technology, dance, fitness, music, yoga, seminars and recreation games like dominoes and pickle-ball.
